Andrea Toppin
Saint Paul Minnesota
Marathon 2:42
Andrea is a Full-Time student at Northwestern Chiropractic School and a former Division 1 Athlete at Iowa State. After college, Andrea stopped running for a few years before realizing something was missing. We were able to help Andrea slowly get back into running and run her first marathon at Twin Cities Marathon. Already achieving her initial goal of a Boston Qualifier, Andrea has now set her sights on running 2:45 and qualifying for the 2020 Olympic Trials in Atlanta, Georgia.
Andrea was our first athlete and the one who showed the joys in helping others achieve their goals in the sport. Not only does it make us proud to see her achieve her goals and conquer her struggles, but she has us learn that every runner has their individual needs in training and race strategy.
UPDATE: Andrea just ran 2:42 at the 2018 California International Marathon! We have been very impressed by her progress and ability to train while juggling the rigors of Chiropractic school. On to the next goals: top 10 finish at a World Marathon Major, Olympic A standard, and Preparing for the 2020 Olympic Trials. The Sky is the limit!
Fei Shi
Chicago Illinois
Marathon 3:13
Fei Shi joined the group back in the early Fall. Fei had his sights set on running both the Chicago Marathon and CIM, only 2 months apart. This is no easy feat and the risk of injury is huge trying to come back from a marathon that quickly. Fei ran 3:15 at last year's CIM and was looking to break 3:10 this Fall and earn himself a Boston Qualifier. Fei also works full time and has a baby boy at home. Has only been running for a couple years now so he has huge potential to improve and we expect him to make huge jumps from season to season.
UPDATE: Fei ran 3:13 at CIM this year for a 2 minute PR. He was perfectly on pace through 20 miles and fought through some knee pain over the last 10k to earn himself a great new PR! While a little short of his goals, Fei has a lot of room to grow still. This Spring we plan to focus on some speed development and work in the weight room to strengthen his base so we can apply that to another marathon next fall. Fei is looking to PR at all distances from the 5k on up to the half marathon this fall.
Goals
5k: sub 19
8k: sub 29
10k: sub 40
10 mile: sub 68
Half Marathon: Sub 1:30
“Tyler and Katy have helped me get back into running and achieve things I never thought were possible. It's amazing to see how good I really can be!”

Andrew Franklin
Minneapolis, Minnesota
Marathon 3:15
Carly Paul
Iowa City, Iowa
Marathon 2:58
Andrew ran his first marathon this past Spring at the Fargo Marathon. Off of minimal training he surprised himself with a 3:15 and since then, has been very motivated to see what he can do at the distance! He started with us this winter and we are looking forward to building up his speed, strength, and mileage moving into the spring to give a run on sub 3:00 at this years Fargo Marathon. Outside of running, Andrew has just started as a freshman at the University of Minnesota and has recently found out he is diabetic, which is a hurdle to his running he has been handling incredibly!
